Welcome to Sand Gap Elementary School!
If you are new to Sand Gap Elementary, you just entered into a very special school. Sand Gap is a close-knit educational community that promotes the academic and social development of all students in a safe, friendly environment.
Our expectations for all students are: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe.
I am honored and humbled to be the principal of this great school, as this year will be my second year to serve the community in this capacity.
Our dedicated staff serves approximately 300 students in grades PK-5. In addition to the core curriculum, the school offers gifted and learning support services, reading support , speech and language support, guidance, instructional support services, and occupational and physical therapy. Sand Gap Elementary students experience instruction in specialty areas also: art, music, physical education, library, and technology.
I view our parents/guardians as equal partners in providing our children with meaningful educational experiences. Further, I encourage you to become active participants in your child’s education. Parents who help regularly and routinely in the school will need to obtain the necessary clearances. I certainly understand many of you lead busy lives, and it is often difficult to volunteer at school. Just as important as volunteering is a nightly routine of reading to your child, talking about their day, and getting them prepared for the next day of school.
I am thrilled to be part of such an outstanding team! We invite you to join our community as we work together to best serve our students! Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have a concern. I look forward to working with you and your children!
