The JCMS Project Lead the Way Technology Group recently won a grant from the Hyster-Yale Group in Berea. Hyster builds tough, durable lift trucks that deliver high productivity, low total cost of ownership, easy serviceability and advanced ergonomic features. They also achieve outstanding operational results through application of engineering disciplines. Student representatives Canaan Browning and Luke Strong visited the Hyster facility and met with several of the employees, including some from Jackson County. The students were accompanied by Nikki Browning, JCMS Computer Science/STEM teacher and Tammy Morgan, FYS Director.
The grant will be used to purchase the Lego Education Simple & Powered Machines Base Set. LEGO Education Machines & Mechanisms gives students the tools and activities to learn about real-world technology and engineering problems and solutions.
