Non-Traditional Instructional Day Parent Survey

The Non-Traditional Instructional Day will allow our district to conduct school through virtual or other non-traditional means on days that we would normally have to cancel school (for weather, flooding, sickness, etc.)  There are currently 13 districts in Kentucky using the Non-Traditional Instructional Day.  The district is in the process of gathering input from various stakeholders to determine if the Non-Instructional Day would be an option for Jackson County for the 15-16 School Year.  The Non-Traditional Instructional Day will allow our students to continue with activities going on in the classroom and help minimize learning loss from being out of school for long periods of time.

STLP Recognition

Tyner STLP students submitted 12 Digital Products for online judging in January. We were recently given the results of those products and can proudly say that 8 are advancing to the State Competition on March 26th! The following students will be taking their products:

In addition to the Digital Products, our STLP students have also been given the privilege of taking their group service project to the State Competition. Their service project is titled, “Hope for Haiti.” They are raising money to help send Haitian children to school. We will be sending more information soon to tell you how you can help!

21st Century Grant

Tyner Elementary School is currently applying for the 21st Century grant to provide before and after-school tutoring opportunities. In addition, it will provide funds for enrichment activities to support TES students.
