Welcome to my Webpage!
My name is Daniel Muncy and I am very excited to begin my fifth year here at Jackson County Middle School.
I graduated in 2015 from Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in Middle Grades Education, with an emphasis in Social Studies and Science. I served as a substitute teacher in Jackson County for two years and I completed my student teaching at Corbin Middle School. I recently completed my Master's degree in Teacher Leadership and Rank I in Instructional Leadership/School Principal at the University of the Cumberlands.
I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Earth Science. My classes are very challenging, but very engaging as well. I try to incorporate as much hands-on and inquiry based learning as I possibly can. I believe in holding students to high expectations and providing the appropriate support to see all students succeed.
My other roles in the school include sponsoring the Colonels of Distinction Program, serving as the head coach for both the 6th grade girls' and boys' basketball teams, and also serving on our school's Site Based Decision Making Council.
