A Good Surprise from Frankfort!!
Jackson County Public Schools recently received some totally unexpected, but exciting news. The Kentucky School Facilities Construction Commission in Frankfort voted last week to recommend construction funding for specific projects in several school districts, which included Jackson County. One of those projects fully determined by the Kentucky School Facilities Construction Commission is a renovation to the Jackson County Middle School. The aforementioned funds are part of the $1.3 billion Better Kentucky Plan in which $127 million is headed to local school districts. Upon receipt of the federal funds the Kentucky School Facilities Construction Commission in Frankfort will allocate the grant funding specifically for this renovation project.
Currently, Jackson County Public Schools are planning several projects to upgrade our three elementary schools in the very near future. This completely unexpected funding from Frankfort will now allow us to add the Jackson County Middle School to our construction upgrade plans.
Please see the attached press release below from Governor Andy Beshear’s office concerning the Better Kentucky Plan and how it impacts our local school district.
