JCPS Elementary Reading Celebration 2022

JCPS Reading Celebration

This year the elementary schools’ annual Accelerated Reading Celebration was held in the Jackson County Board of Education’s gymnasium on Wednesday, May 4th, 2022. This event served as a reward for those students, approximately 80 district-wide, who met or exceeded the 100 points goal. The collaborative efforts of the three elementary schools, in addition to assistance from central office staff and programs, helped to provide a fun-filled day for these students.

The program was theme-based and consisted of movies in the gym with a DIY activity that followed. Kits were purchased that allowed the students to create a take home product: a self-named, hand stuffed snow leopard with a birth certificate for each, as well as a book about the animal. Students were provided popcorn, pizza, drinks, and snacks throughout the day.

We are extremely proud to have been able to recognize these students for their dedication and accomplishments this school year and wish to thank each school's principal, library media specialists/ assistants, the district technology department, Title 1, food service, the transportation department, and all who played a role in making this a successful and enjoyable event for our students.
